Your web site is very informative.I am a descendant of Mary Ann Alcorn (about1850 to 1909), my Grandmother was Bessie Smullen and my Mother was Margery Morrison. My mother visited all of the descendants of James Alcorn (1843-1912) and I have many pictures of his children: Jennie, James, Maggie, Lizzie and Richard in Iowa and Michigan. I can send you these if you are interested.
Do you have any pictures of Mary Ann Alcorn. She stayed in Ireland and married Andrew Smullen?

I really appreciate what you have here, it’s just wonderful information. I do have a question about two of the children of John Alcorn and Jane Dudgeon. Just like you, I have information on Maggie Alcorn, who married John Patterson. In addition, we both have a Margaret Alcorn as another daughter. You don’t have any information for this Margaret Alcorn, and all I have is that she died young. My source of information comes from Elizabeth Dudgeon, daughter of William Dudgeon and Elizabeth Alcorn. They are all included here. Elizabeth told her daughter about her grandparents and aunts and uncles that you have here. Her daughter passed that information on to me. That’s where I got the comment that Margaret died when she was young. After Maggie and her husband emigrated to Iowa, all the USA records list her as Margaret, and that made me curious about the other Margaret Alcorn.
I’ve seen something with other family lines. When a child died very young, that name would be used again when another child was born. Both of us have the children of William Dudgeon and Elizabeth Alcorn which includes a Fanny Ann 1, Fanny Ann 2, James 1, and James 2. I have birth records for all of these children. Fanny Ann 1 died when she was just 1 month old, and James 1 died when he was just 2 years old. They were twins. Both names were used again after James 1 died in 1870. Is it possible that the Margaret that we do not have any records for died before Maggie Alcorn was born in 1854?
